I am intrigued
by this stage of the drawing. The masses are laid out and the color
is predominately cool. It is almost as if it is a value contrast
more than anything else.
Warm and cool is how
I recognize/organize color. Value is how I orchestrate it. I have
to have both. I don't have a system for using color when I make
a pastel. At the beginning of a work the color choice is arbitrary.
By chance a warm color may end up being layered over a cool color,
or vice-versa.
